The Intern will have the opportunity to rotate through different classrooms to gain real life experience for their degree or certification. Depending on the length of the College or University semesters, the Intern program will require 100-300 hours working in a childcare facility or school within an 8 to 15-week time frame. During each rotation the Intern assists the Teacher with the daily program for children, including, but not limited to, the preparation and cleanup of daily programming/activities, conducting child assessments, and helping children learn to think creatively, to solve problems independently and respect themselves and others.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assists the Teacher in the implementation of the company provided curriculum which includes instruction in ten learning domains and ensures children are taught to read and write in the English language.
  • Guides children in a positive manner displaying friendly, affectionate, enthusiastic, and caring behaviors.
  • Helps with meal and snack preparation, feeding children, modeling table manners at family style meals.
  • Interacts with children on the playground/classroom taking part in activities that include bending, stooping, jumping and other physical activities.
  • Assists with ensuring the classroom is organized, clean and ready to present to current and prospective families at all times.
  • Works to prevent injuries and accidents; follows all procedures related to injuries and accidents if one should occur. Reports child injuries and hazards promptly to the Teacher, Lead Teacher and Director.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the families and children we serve. This includes maintaining strict confidentiality regarding children and families.
  • Encouraged to attend all staff training sessions, meetings and programs sponsored by the School.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by a member of management, Teacher, or Lead Teacher, may be asked to work in other classrooms when needed.
  • Responsible for daily cleaning duties which include sweeping, mopping, disposing of trash.
