The IT Security Engineering Manager is expected to interface with peers in Applications, Infrastructure and Network teams as well as with the leaders of the business units to share the corporate security vision and to solicit their involvement in achieving higher levels of enterprise security. They are responsible for leading IT Security Operations and delivering a best in class program.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Design, build and implement enterprise-class security systems.
  • Lead the daily operations of Security Programs, including SOC and Vulnerability Management.
  • Align industry standards and frameworks with overall business and technology strategy.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party vendors to build and operate security programs.
  • Identify security gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
  • Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats.  
  • Develop, review, and approve requirements for new and existing systems.
  • Plan, research, and design security architectures.
  • Establish disaster recovery procedures and conduct security breach drills.
  • Consult and provide guidance on major security incidents and provide post-event analyses.
  • Verify security systems by developing and implementing testing procedures.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years related experience and/or training in IT Security; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience implementing multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, identity management and related technologies utilizing Microsoft Azure AD and Okta.

 

 

Certification/Licensure:

Industry recognized security certifications are strongly preferred (e.g.: CISSP, CSCP, CISM, CISA or CRISC)

 

 

Other Skills and Abilities Qualifications:

  • Ability to have highly technical conversations with IT staff and 3rd parties.
  • Solid understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization and security.
  • Good working knowledge of current IT risks and experience implementing security solutions.
  • Ability to interact with a broad cross-section of personnel to explain and enforce security measures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as business acumen and a commercial outlook.
  • Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
  • Proficient time management, organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to operate with little instruction on day to day work and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Creative problem-solving skills. Ability to think “out of the box” and apply nontraditional solutions to challenging issues.
  • Ability to write reports, test plans and scripts, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Skilled in creating and documenting work processes and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
