The Sr. Manager, Employee Relations will oversee the Employee Relations team and will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of core employee relations practices across the United States. As a subject matter expert, this role will partner with HR team, business leaders and Legal counsel to address and resolve employee issues and promote a positive and engaging work environment. This position will also play a key role in the development and roll out of new initiatives and projects that support operational excellence.
Job Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Lead the highly skilled Employee Relations team to advise leadership on appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Manage the workplace investigation processes, navigating highly sensitive, complex, and confidential matters.
- Oversee the ER teams use of case management systems (i.e. ServiceNow and EthicsPoint) and identify/implement efficiencies in process.
- Track relevant employee data, metrics & trends to help inform process improvements and approaches.
- Drive a culture of proactive performance management by engagement with managers and employees.
- Serve as a resource concerning issues of employment law, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or other employee relations matters.
- Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders within HR and across the business to enhance the employee experience and influence change.
- Apply experience and expertise to review trends and challenges, proposing strategies and programs to sustain engagement, inclusion and mitigate risk.
- Drive consistencies in investigations, coaching, formal warnings, and involuntary terminations.
- Lead the creation, review and administration of corporate-wide HR and employment related policies.
- Oversee, conduct and lead complex investigations related to allegations of harassment, discrimination, wage & hour and policy violations.
- Manage incoming compliance hotline questions/complaints that are escalated to the HR team, following through to resolution.
- Drive cultural adoption of employee relations procedures and skills through communication and training for managers and employees; develops and leads training for managers on performance management best practices.
- Stay updated on recent laws on relevant employment related laws including state requirements impacting employees (minimum wage, salary posting requirement, final pay requirements, etc.)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position manages the team of Employee Relations Managers/Specialists.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- BA/BS Degree in Human Resources or comparable field.
- 7+ years of experience working in the Employee Relations field with investigation skills including interviews and investigative report writing.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with case management systems such as ServiceNow.
- Skilled in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and using data to drive decision-making.
- Professional Certifications desired: PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP.

- Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
- Proficiency with technology and reporting; advanced computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office Suite.

- Works with frequent interruptions and changing priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.
